Do you think you’re resilient?

Has anyone ever lost their job, lost the love of their life, family member, friend, struggled through mental or physical illness or been bullied, abused or assaulted? Any human has been through at least one of those.

Why were those questions asked? Because adversity doesn’t discriminate.

Everyone has been through their own struggles, which is one beauty of everyones story.

Albeit negative, it is ultimately a positive.

Without adversity, humans would never feel pain, hurt, loneliness, sadness, or anger.

When people go through negative emotions, it can be a test of resilience, big or small.

But what actions are taken in those moments helps growth from within.

During those tough times, it’s important to feel the negative emotion, let it be there, acknowledge it but don’t let it override the mind. It’s okay for it to be there.

Think about why the negative emotion has arrived, take the learnings from it and create a positive experience.

Taking the learnings from a negative emotion is key.

It is inevitable the same emotion will arise again whether its five minutes later, the following day or the following week. Not necessarily for the same reason.

If the learnings are taken from the first experience, the preparedness to tackle the negative emotion the next time has increased. It won’t be perfect, but there will be improvement.

Celebrate the improvement and learn again.

Rinse and repeat this for as long as it takes.

This, is resilience building.

Everyone is resilient.

Humans don’t actively seek negative emotions, who would?

They are attracted through mindset, consciously or unconsciously to help growth and navigate the wonderful roller coaster of life.
